Masala Dal is an Indian curry style dish made with lentils - this masala powder is packed with traditional spices, guaranteed to make cooking simple.
Special Masala Dal Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 400g red split lentils, soaked
- 50g Dal Masala Powder
- 1 tbsp cumin seeds
- 4 garlic cloves, crushed
- Lemon Juice
Method:
- Add the lentils to a pan along with around 1200ml water and 30g masala powder, bring to the boil and cook uncovered on a high heat for around 10 minutes.
- Reduce the heat & simmer for around 25-30 minutes or until the lentils are soft and the water is absorbed.
- Stir through the remaining masala powder with a few splashes of lemon juice and salt to taste.
- In a separated pan, heat 1tbsp oil and add the cumin seeds and garlic, allow them to sizzle for around 30 seconds or until fragrant and starting to brown.
- Add the oil to the dal and stir through.
