Orzo also known as risoni, is a form of short-cut pasta, shaped like a large grain of rice.
Orzo is traditionally made from white flour.
The name Orzo is common for this pasta shape in North America, but less so in Italy where the work means barley.
Method
- Place pasta in a saucepan of boiling water( 1litre of water per 90g pasta).
- During cooking: Add salt to taste and boil stirring occasionally.
- A shorter cooking time results in a more "al dente" (firm) texture.
- After cooking: When pasta is cooked drain immediately and serve.
- Check food is piping hot.
