A hot curry powder packed with traditional Indian flavours - makes the perfect madras curry.
Beef Madras Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 500g beef steak, cut into bitesize pieces
- 50g madras curry powder
- 1 large onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 150ml beef stock
- lemon juice
Method:
- Heat oil in a pan and add the onions, cook until soft and caramelised, add the beef and sear until browned on all sides.
- Add the curry powder and continue to cook for another 5 minutes, until the spices become fragrant.
- Add the tomato puree, mix till combined and cook for 2 minutes before adding the stock, bring to the boil, cover and simmer for 1 hr 25 minutes or until the beef is tender and the sauce has reduced.
- Serve with rice & raita!
- This recipe also works great in the slow cooker.
