A dried powder made from that of giant fennel, with a pungent, savoury aroma and flavour.
- A diluted strength of asafoetida powder, this is mixed with flour to mellow the flavour.
- This is often used to replace onion and garlic in Indian cooking.
- Add to curries, sauces and pasta dishes to add a strong savoury taste.
- Great for use in sauces and dressings, where texture is not desired.
- Sprinkle over fish or eggs to bring out the flavour.
- This powder should be used in very small amounts & preferably cooked for a lengthy time, or pre-fried before using.
